Erin Young, MS, LISW
Erin Young is a therapist specializing in the treatment of obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), body-focused repetitive behaviors (BFRBs), and anxiety disorders. She is passionate about helping adolescents and adults break free from the cycles of fear, avoidance, and compulsive behaviors that keep them from living the lives they want.
Erin believes therapy should be both compassionate and effective. With a blend of warmth, candor, and humor, she creates a supportive environment where clients feel understood while also being challenged to make meaningful change. Her goal is to help clients build confidence in facing uncertainty, reconnect with what matters most to them, and develop lasting skills that extend far beyond the therapy room.
Erin has specialized training in Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), the gold-standard treatment for OCD and anxiety disorders, and Comprehensive Behavioral (ComB) Treatment for body-focused repetitive behaviors, including trichotillomania (hair pulling) and excoriation disorder (skin picking). She also has specialized training in the assessment and treatment of perinatal mood and anxiety disorders (PMADs), helping individuals navigate pregnancy, postpartum, and the transition to parenthood with evidence-based, compassionate care.
Erin incorporates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) into her work to help clients develop greater psychological flexibility, reduce the impact of intrusive thoughts, and move toward lives guided by their values rather than fear. She is also trained in Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) for post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
While Erin specializes in OCD and BFRBs, she also works with individuals experiencing panic disorder, generalized anxiety, social anxiety, health anxiety, phobias, depression, trauma, perinatal mood and anxiety disorders, and related concerns. She understands that no two people experience these conditions in the same way and tailors treatment to each client's unique goals, strengths, and experiences.
Erin is committed to providing evidence-based care while fostering genuine connection. She believes recovery is possible and feels privileged to walk alongside her clients as they face difficult challenges, celebrate victories, and build more meaningful lives.
Outside of work, Erin enjoys spending time with her husband and two children, reading, gardening, and making memories with family and friends.
