**Dr. Sievers is now accepting new clients**

Brad Sievers, PsyD is a provisionally licensed psychologist who provides individual therapy to adults across Iowa. Dr. Sievers works with clients who are struggling with a range of mental health challenges, and he has advanced training and experience in treating anxiety disorders, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD). He believes the foundation of effective therapy is a collaborative and trusting therapeutic relationship where clients’ goals are prioritized and their values and identities are respected and affirmed.

Dr. Sievers earned his doctorate in clinical psychology from Baylor University in 2025. While there, he worked in Dr. Thomas Fergus’s Anxiety and OCD lab, researching the role of courage in exposure therapy for anxiety and related disorders. He completed his predoctoral internship at the Iowa City VA Healthcare system, where he worked in the PTSD, General Mental Health, and Geropsychology clinics, and the mental health acute inpatient unit.

Dr. Sievers primarily utilizes a cognitive-behavioral approach that is heavily influenced by Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. He has extensive experience with exposure therapy, which he has used to help clients struggling with OCD, social anxiety, panic attacks, agoraphobia, specific phobias, and
PTSD. Dr. Sievers also has experience treating PTSD with Prolonged Exposure (PE), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), and Written Exposure Therapy (WET). With these treatments, he has helped clients recover from a wide range of traumatic experiences, including childhood physical abuse, childhood sexual abuse, rape and sexual assault, combat trauma, and occupational trauma. Mindfulness and self-compassion are often woven into his work with clients.

When he’s not working, Brad loves spending time with his wife, son, relatives, and friends. He enjoys reading, watching TV (The Office, Modern Family, and Game of Thrones are a few of his favorite shows), going for walks, hunting, fishing, and following the Chicago Bears, Chicago Cubs, and Iowa State Cyclones.
